Is Core a good first gaming PC?
Absolutely. Core is designed specifically to take the guesswork out of buying your first gaming PC. We choose compatible, balanced components, build and test the machine for you, and we’re here if you need help afterwards.
What games can a Core gaming PC run?
This is where you can mention Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, GTA, Call of Duty etc, then explain that performance varies by Core model, resolution and settings. Link to your benchmark/game section.
How do I know which Core to choose?
Start with the games you want to play and the monitor you’ll be using. Each Core is designed around a different level of performance. If you’re unsure, talk to us and we’ll recommend one rather than simply pushing you towards the most expensive.
What’s the difference between Core and Utopia’s custom gaming PCs?
This is a really important one. Something like: Core gives you a smaller number of carefully chosen configurations and takes away most of the decisions. Our custom range gives you much more control over components, styling, cooling and performance. Both are built and supported by Utopia.
Can I upgrade my Core gaming PC later?
Yes. Core uses standard PC components rather than proprietary parts or sealed designs. Storage, memory, graphics and other components can be upgraded as your needs change. You can do it yourself or ask us to help.
What happens when I need more storage?
Games get big. Thankfully you don’t need a new PC when your drive fills up. Additional SSD storage can be added later, and we can help you choose and install it.
Does it come with Windows and is it ready to use?
Assuming Windows is included, this should absolutely stay. First time buyers genuinely wonder this. Explain that it arrives built, Windows installed, drivers updated, tested and ready for the initial Windows setup/login.
What monitor should I use, 1080p, 1440p or 4K?
It depends on the Core you choose and the games you want to play.
1080p is the easiest resolution to run and is a great choice for fast, smooth gaming. 1440p gives you a noticeably sharper image while still delivering excellent gaming performance on the right hardware. 4K looks fantastic, but it asks much more from the graphics card.
We’ll show the resolution each Core is best suited to, and if you already own a monitor, tell us what it is and we’ll make sure you’re choosing the right PC for it.
Does it have WiFi and Bluetooth?
Yes, where WiFi and Bluetooth are included in the specification, they’re ready to use when your Core arrives.
You can also connect by Ethernet if your router is nearby, which is often the best option for gaming.
If you’re unsure how you’ll be connecting your PC, just ask us before ordering and we’ll make sure you have everything you need.
What warranty and support do I get?
Every Core gaming PC is backed by our 3 year parts warranty, 10 year labour warranty and lifetime technical support.
That means our relationship doesn’t end when the box arrives.
If you have a question about your PC, need help with something or are thinking about an upgrade in a few years, you can still speak to the Utopia team.
Your PC is built and supported by real people here in Scotland.
What happens if something goes wrong?
Get in touch with us.
We’ll start by helping you work out what’s happening. Sometimes a problem can be sorted remotely without the PC going anywhere.
If it does need hands on attention, we’ll explain the next step and arrange to get it looked at. And if you’re local, you can always bring it into our Kilmarnock workshop.
You won’t be left searching forums or trying to diagnose the problem yourself. That’s what we’re here for.
Can I talk to somebody before I order?
Please do.
If you’re unsure which Core you need, tell us what games you want to play, what monitor you’re using and roughly what you’d like to spend.
We’d much rather spend a few minutes helping you choose the right PC than have you spend hundreds of pounds guessing.
There’s no expectation that you already understand graphics cards, processors or PC specifications. That’s our job.
