Simple pricing. No surprise bills. These prices cover the labour for around 80% of the computer repairs we carry out. If your repair needs replacement parts or unusually extensive work, your technician will contact you with the options and cost before we continue. Nothing extra gets added without your approval.

Handing over a computer you rely on takes a bit of trust. So here’s exactly what happens when you bring your PC, laptop or Mac to Utopia, from first conversation to getting it back.
TALK TO US - Tell us what’s gone wrong.
Call us, message us or bring your device into our Kilmarnock store. You don’t need to know what the fault is, that’s our job. We’ll ask a few questions, take a look and explain what happens next. Free diagnosis is available on most repairs.
BOOK IT IN We’ll take the details. You leave the device with us.
We’ll confirm your contact details, record the problem and make sure we know about anything important, including your files and data. If there’s likely to be a charge before work begins, we’ll tell you.
WE FIND THE FAULT A technician gets to work.
Your PC, laptop or Mac is inspected by one of our trained technicians. We’ll diagnose the fault and work out the best way to put it right, not simply the quickest way to sell you something new. If the repair needs parts or anything outside the price we’ve agreed, we’ll contact you first.
WE FIX & TEST IT Repairing it is only half the job.
Once the fault is fixed, we test the machine properly to make sure everything is working as it should. Where appropriate, we’ll also clean the device and check its overall health before it leaves the workshop. Then we’ll let you know it’s ready.
YOU’RE BACK UP & RUNNING Collect it, take it home, carry on.
We’ll talk you through what we found, what we repaired and anything we think you should know. And our support doesn’t end when you walk out the door. If you’ve got a question afterwards, call us. We’ve still got your back.

Repair has always been part of Utopia. Not because it’s an easy add on, but because we believe good technology should be kept working for as long as it reasonably can. Here’s why that matters to us.
MAKE GOOD TECHNOLOGY LAST
The most sustainable computer is often the one you already own. A failed drive, tired battery or broken screen doesn’t necessarily mean the end of a machine. If repairing or upgrading your existing computer makes sense, we’ll tell you. Even when selling you a new one would be easier.
WASTE LESS. REUSE MORE.
Technology shouldn’t become waste before its time. Repair keeps devices, components and valuable materials in use for longer. And when something genuinely can’t be saved, we’ll help make sure what can be reused, refurbished or recycled gets another chance.

DO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT’S WRONG WITH MY COMPUTER?
Not at all. Tell us what it’s doing, or not doing, and we’ll take it from there. Diagnosis is free on most repairs, and we’ll explain what we find in plain English before any chargeable work goes ahead.
HOW MUCH DOES A COMPUTER REPAIR COST?
Our standard repair labour starts at £85 inc. VAT, depending on how quickly you need the computer back. Replacement parts are extra where required, and we’ll always confirm any additional cost with you before proceeding. No surprise bills.
HOW LONG WILL MY PC OR LAPTOP REPAIR TAKE?
You choose the turnaround that suits you. Our standard service is 7 to 10 working days, Gold is 3 working days, and Platinum offers same day priority repair, subject to the fault and availability of any parts required.
DO YOU REPAIR COMPUTERS YOU DIDN’T BUILD OR SELL?
Absolutely. We repair PCs, laptops, gaming computers and Macs from all major manufacturers, whether they came from Utopia or somewhere else. Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer and plenty more are welcome.
IS IT WORTH REPAIRING MY COMPUTER OR SHOULD I REPLACE IT?
We’ll tell you what we’d do if it were ours. If a repair or upgrade can give your computer useful life at a sensible cost, that’s normally where we’ll start. If replacing it genuinely makes more sense, we’ll explain why. Selling you a new computer isn’t automatically the answer.
CAN YOU FIX MY COMPUTER REMOTELY?
Sometimes. Software problems, email issues, settings and other faults can often be resolved using remote computer support, without bringing the machine into our Kilmarnock workshop. If it needs a physical repair, we’ll tell you.
