MatrixGold is a very processor intensive program, so getting a fast processor is the best way to increase your performance. We do not recommend the i3 chipset for MatrixGold as they are only dual-core entry level processors in the ‘i series’, and are meant more for low-power mobile platforms. While you can find a suitable computer with an i5 chip, if you plan on doing a lot of rendering, animations, or multi-tasking, the i7 would be a better option.

MatrixGoldis a 64 bit application that can use as much memory as your computer has available. Generally 12GB is plenty for most designers, however, if you plan on using your computer for more than just MatrixGold, more memory would be helpful.

In our testing, the NVIDIA 40 series graphics cards have proven to be outstanding, surpassing their predecessors in rendering speed and overall performance. They stand out as a top choice for MatrixGold. We do not recommend NVIDIA Quadro cards.

We recommend opting for a high-definition (HD) or higher resolution screen, ranging from 1080p to 4K and everything in between. It's important to note that the GPU demand increases with higher resolutions.

Consider the following GPU memory suggestions:

For 1080p: 4GB GPU memory
For 1440p: 6GB GPU memory
For 2160p (4K): 8GB GPU memory

For a more efficient workflow, we recommend incorporating a second monitor, ideally 27" or larger, with a resolution matching or surpassing that of your laptop screen.
